Top 5 Archive

1. Cinnamon and Sugar Pita Chips from Trader Joe’s . Yum. I’m not a huge snacker, but these may just make me become one.
2. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium won’t even be in theaters until November but I am already excited for it.
3. My infatuation with wedding sites continues with Indiebride. I love the honesty and no holds barred approach to non-traditional weddings.
4. I am a nerd, but I really get off on the end of summer. It’s a little cooler, and perfect for outdoor evening dinner parties. One is in the works here at our place.
5. Speaking, once again, of weddings, I am totally set on our groomsmen not wearing tuxes. Yeah, no cheesy cumberbunds and bow ties, we are actively searching for matching spring suits for the wedding party that don’t make them look like gangsters or pimps.

1. Summer produce. A sure sign summer has arrived is seeing the roadside stands full of tomato, corn, melon, and squash. Cutting out the middle man isn’t only cheaper, it’s fresher and delicious.

2. J and I recently bought what we lovingly call “old people chairs” for the yard. They fold up to fight in a bag, but have footrests and drink cozies. Nothing like sitting out back after dinner reading and relaxing.

3. If I ever need to know how to survive a shipwreck or find my way through the Mayan ruins, I may be able to do so thanks to my obsession with Survivorman on the Discovery Channel.

4. I have also discovered that I am not only obsessed with my own wedding, I am also obsessed with other people’s weddings. That’s why I can’t stop reading the blogs at Weddingbee. Wedding voyeurism to the max.

5. Although I was sad when our Lilac bushes stopped blooming and thus I couldn’t cut fresh bunches to keep in every room of the house, my sadness was short lived when I discoved that the two late blooming trees outside our bedroom windows are Crape Myrtles. They don’t smell as sweet, but they’re gorgeous to look at and I already have a vase filled for the kitchen table.

 1. The Philadelphia Phillies.  Either live or on television, whether they’re winning or losing, I still need my daily Phillies fix.
2. Lowes.com’s Garden Planner is a free interactive planner to help you design your dream yard. You can even print out a shopping list from your design. For nerds like me this is heaven.
3. The Monster Squad is coming out on DVD!
4. Weekdays off.  I seem to be so much more productive on a random Monday off versus a Saturday.
5. Breyers makes a Special Edition Fried Ice Cream, and I’m in love with it. Honey, cinnamon, caramel, tostadas – yum!

1. The Arcade Fire’s The Well and the Lighthouse from their latest album Neon Bible. Amazing.
2. Tissues. Yeah, my allergies BROUGHT IT! I can’t be more than ten feet from a tissue at all times or else disgustingness will ensue.
3. Yeah, wearing flipflops and skirts and not freezing is still pretty awesome.
4. Jeannette Walls’s The Glass Castle is a masterpiece.
5. The Ellen.

Five Things I Currently Adore
1.Arnold Palmer – the drink version. One half iced tea plus one half lemonade = a whole lotta goodness.
2. French music. J’adore Paris. Listening to some Claude Francois or the soundtrack from Amelie takes me back there.
3. Wearing Flip Flops and sleeping with the windows open again is fantastic.
4. Jonathan Safran Foer. He wrote two of my favorite books ever, Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close . If I could write half as well as he does my life would be complete.
5. The Body Shop’s Brazil Nut Body Butter. Amazing.
